The Holiday Season!

Merry Christmas Everyone!! Even though the Christmas Blizzard of '09 postponed or limited travel for the holidays we still managed to make the best of everything. We had a wonderful and relaxing time with our family in town and managed to log about 20+ hours on our new WII!!

Taking advantage of the beautiful photo op at Kari Meyer's wedding last weekend!

We also celebrated our baby Larkin's 3rd birthday on Sunday...hard to believe she is already that old. She is talking just like the other kids already and has an awesome personality and keeps us on our toes!! She was so excited for her Tinkerbell party!!!

Loving her Tinkerbell cupcake cake...it was yummy!!!

Sporting a lot of her new birthday gifts!

Round two for the candles...we had to light them again as she wanted to party some more!

Summertime!

Sorry it's been so long since my last post...things have been crazy it seems! My last entry was that we were trying to sell our camper...well we only had it listed for 3 days on Craig's List and some guy drove from KC on a Sunday afternoon with cash in hand and took it home. It was pretty funny because I was at Carmen's dance recital, Dave called me and said he talked to some guy that was interested in our camper, on our way home we met it on the road being pulled by a little white vehicle--SOLD!! It happened pretty quickly & Carmen & I missed it all! So much for thinking we would have it sitting in our driveway for a while, heck we didn't even have a For Sale sign on it yet! So then on Monday after we sold ours we turned around and bought one locally from a guy in town. It's awesome! I thought it was going to be a little 'much' and we'd loose the camping aspect but we love it and it works perfect for the size of our family. It even has a bathroom and the kids think that is great fun--and I have to admit it is rather handy!! We've taken it on two trips so far - once to Branched Oak by Lincoln and then once to Fremont Lakes with the Kucera & Wessel families. We have a few small trips planned for the summer yet and then a 4-wheeling trip to Colorado in July. I'll post a few pics from our trips!

Selling our Camper!

We are looking into buying a little bit bigger camper. If you know of anyone who is interested in purchasing a fold down type camper send them our way. We have a description and pictures posted here: http://popupcamper4sale.weebly.com/ It's a great little thing--Natalie & I survived what I would call "Wizard of Oz" type winds back in November when we camped in Albion for the Scrapping Birthday Bash! Oh the memories!!! haha!

3rd Place!

The pine wood derby races were on the 19th of March. I'm not sure who was more excited--Dave or Triston! Dave put some extra love and research into the car this year as we're not sure if Triston is going to continue to be in cub scouts next year. It paid off! The car had several races and did very well--he was in the last race for 3rd & 4th place against one of his best friends, Nick. He was so excited that he got a trophy but he felt really bad for Nick who only received a medal--he didn't quite understand that! He tried to make him feel better -- it was nice to see his good sportsmanship. We're proud of you guys!!

Proud owner of the 3rd place trophy!

Two happy guys! Great job!!

Cheering for Triston's semi-final race!!

Dance Pictures 2009

We had dance pictures tonite so I thought I'd share a few pictures. I should of allowed myself a little more time with getting her ready because I didn't have time to take any pictures until after the professional ones were done--last year I probably took 30-40 beforehand! She does like to pose for the camera though!! She was a little trooper with me last night...rushed to pictures, rushed back to the hospital for an hour or so to help with the power outage, then rushed to volleyball, and rushed home so she could get to bed! She wasn't happy with me when I dropped her off at home so I could join my team for a drink...but heard she went in and went straight to bed--guess she was truly wore out from all the running!!
Mom, it's still winter out here!!
But I still have one smile left!

Looking Forward...

6 days until our scrapbook day at Trisha's house!! Carmen and I just can't wait. I have been having the terrible itch to scrapbook lately but never can find the time to not feel guilty about sitting down at my table in the basement to work on anything. I started a double page layout over a month ago of Larkin's birth ... and just actually glued the stuff down yesterday but it still isn't finished! Seems like there is always something else I should be doing instead. I have a goal today to get the house dusted (which I don't do very often but it needs it SOOOO bad!), move some of Triston's stuff to the basement and finish laundry from yesterday--if I can get all that done maybe I'll get an hour in at the scrapbook table (I do have a good start already on each task...I might have ADHD!!). Carmen & I did clean up our scrap yesterday so we're on a good start of getting ready to head to DC next week (that's not Washington!!). I also got the real scrapbook suitcase for Christmas from my mom so this will be the first time I get to use that--pretty excited about that!! I'm thinking of handing down my regular suitcase I always used to Carmen--she already has plenty of stuff to almost fill it too! It's a good mommy/daughter bond time to do it together. Anyway--we are so excited to get together for some girl time and some productive scrappin'!!!
